Solutions for You: Vacuum Heat Treatments

• Vacuum anneal: This treatment improves the workability and internal integrity of the steel. Finished parts can also be treated with no fear of changing their appearance.
• Vacuum carburize: In this process, we use a vacuum to austentize and diffuse the metal, hydrocarbon gas with partial pressure to carburize, and then gas or oil to finish.
• Vacuum braze: In a vacuum furnace, we heat two base metals and one filler metal with low atmospheric pressure in order to join the base metals together.
• Vacuum harden-nitrogen quench: This process protects from oxidation by strengthening the metal with heat devoid of oxygen. By quenching the metal with oil, it is best protected from distortions.
