Vacuum Carburize
Precision Vacuum Carburizing for High-Wear Components
Vacuum carburizing produces a hard, wear‑resistant surface while maintaining a strong, ductile core.
Steel parts are heated to carburizing temperatures in a sealed low-pressure vacuum furnace. Carbon is introduced using controlled hydrocarbon gases which dissociate at the part surface, allowing carbon to diffuse into the steel. After carburizing, parts are gas quenched and then tempered to achieve the required hardness profile and mechanical properties to enhance lifespan of the part.
